GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

For Turkish Students

According to the results of LYS organized by ÖSYM for Undergraduate Programs; Interior architecture, painting, music, etc. as well as YGS scores, pre-registration and special talent exam results; the vocational college programs may be placed by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) without examinations within the framework of the procedures and principles to be determined by the Higher Education Institution.

The YGS score and the special talent exam results are considered to determine the order of entrance and presented to the the departments and with the special ability examination, is determined by the Senate and the results are announced by to the Rectorate.

For a candidate to be admitted to a graduate program, in Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT), which is equivalent to the Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES) or ALES, in the type of the relevant program, and similar examinations, the minimum score determined by the Council of Higher Education should be less than the minimum score determined by the Senate.

In order to apply for the doctoral program a score of 55; 80 for those applying with a Bachelor's degree, and ALES standard score to be determined by Senatoca on condition that it is not less than the standard score are needed. Those who apply for doctorate degree with a Bachelor's degree must have a score of at least 3 out of 4 of their Bachelor's graduation grade averages or equivalent. In addition to the ALES score, the average of the undergraduate and / or graduate grades and the interview results are evaluated in the doctoral programs of those who will apply to the doctorate program with a Master's degree. At least 55 points for admission to the Ph.D. program or at least 55 points from one of the English, French and German languages other than the native language for students of foreign nationality, or a score of at least 55 points from universities is compulsory to get an equivalent score from a given exam. The weight of the ALES score is not less than 50%, and it is determined by the Senate. ALES score is not required for Faculty of Fine Arts and Conservatories.

 

In order to be able to apply for proficiency in art studies, candidates need to have a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree and, except for Fine Arts Faculty or Conservatory, score at least 55 points in verbal section, 80 points for the ones who apply with their Bachelor’s degree in ALES (Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam) on condition that the points should not be below the standard mark, and have a standard score in ALES which is determined by the Senate. The candidates who apply for proficiency in arts with a Bachelor degree,  have a grade point average which is 3 points out of 4 or equivalent to it. The ALES score, grade point average in a Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree and the result of interview/ability test/portfolio of the candidates who apply for proficiency in art with their Master’s degree are assessed in their acceptance process. In the student admission process into proficiency in arts, it is a manditory to have at least 55 points in YDS (Foreign Language Exam) or an equivalent score in an exam which is accepted by the inter-university committee and, for foreign students, at least 55 points in YDS (English, French, or German) except for their native language or an equivalent score in an exam which is accepted by the inter-university committee. The percentage of the ALES score will be determined by the Senate providing that the percentage is not less than 50%.  In the acceptance process to the faculty of Fine arts and conservatory, ALES score is not required. Students are accepted to graduate programs with a thesis and the ALES score or a score from the exams which are accepted as equivalent to ALES. In the acceptace process, along with the ALES score, the grade point average of the student’s Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree, the interview results, the entrance exam scores may be required. Important matters to take into account related to the evaluation and  other conditions which the candidates need to have, are determined by the senate on the proposal of the institutes.

 

FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS

 

In order to be able to be admitted at Toros University’s Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree, the  candidates are required to be a senior in high school or a high school graduate.  

Those who

a)      are foreigners,

b)     are Turkish born citizens who were denationalized upon their request, and those who provide the documents including, a third degree sub-lineage with a Blue Card Identification or a birth certificate to be obtained from data set of Blue Card holders and a document with the identity information provided by government officials by means of the Identity Sharing System,

c)      have been granted a Turkish citizenship, and are still a citizen of a foreign country,

 

d)     are Turkish citizen but completed the last three years of high school in a foreign country except for KKTC (Turkish Republic Of Northern Cyprus) or who completed their high school education in one of the schools within MEB apart from KKTC, and those who started their education in a foreign country after 01/02/2013, and completed their high school education in a foreign country except for KKTC. and those who completed their high school education in one of the schools which is within MEB in a foreign country,

 

e)      are KKTC citizen and reside in KKTC and completed their high school education in KKTC with GCE AL examination results,

 

may apply.

 

When detected, candidates application will be cancelled if the candidates do not meet the above requirements even if their placement and registration for a program have been implemented.

FOR EXCHANGE STUDENTS

According to the agreement between Toros University and a higher education institution in foreign and domestic universities, exchange programs can be implemented. Within the frame of these programs, students may be sent to a domestic or foreign universities for one term or two terms.

The classes to be taken by the students who were sent within the frame of the foreign (ERASMUS) and domestic (FARABI) exchange programs will be determined by the Coordinator of Department. These classes are documented with their code, name and credits if there are classes, which are equivalent or counted as the class itself in their alma mater, or they are documented as an elective class with the class counted as itself unless they are equivalent or counted as the class itself. 

The courses taken by the students of departments at relevant universities’ that follow a common syllabus for double major are documented in their transcript as they are.

A document which shows the classes taken and success rate is given by the student affairs deparment to the students who come from universities with the bilateral agreement.

The fee of the education program will be determined according to the mutual education framework agreement
