Objectives of the Course The purpose of the special education lesson; to define special education; to explain the basic concepts of special education; To have information about children with special needs in early childhood and their rights, to know the relevant laws and regulations; to learn the needs and awareness of children with special needs; To obtain information about the reasons for special education needs, to be able to classify children with special needs; To be able to comprehend individual education programs prepared for children with special needs; To provide information about the role of the family and family participation in the education of children with special needs.
Contents of the Course History, aims, basic concepts and principles of special education; reasons for needing special education (prenatal, moment of birth, postnatal reasons); special educational settings; deaf people; visually impaired; physically disabled people; those with mental retardation; those with learning disabilities; those with speech and language disorders; gifted children; SP kids; children with adjustment problems; the role and participation of the family in special education; Inclusion in the education of children with special needs, the importance and aims of mainstreaming; fusion models.

5 Describe the general characteristics of individuals with different characteristics such as mental retardation, superior intelligence, learning disabilities, emotion and behavior disorder, hearing impairment, visual impairment, severe and multiple disability.
6 Gives information about the causes of diseases of children with special needs.
7 Will be able to determine the functioning and characteristics of Special Education institutions. Knows the history, aims, basic concepts and principles of special education
8 Knows the importance and aims of mainstreaming in the education of children with special needs.
