Objectives of the Course This course will provide students with comprehensive knowledge about history of Western art, the periods of art and contemporary art movements.
Contents of the Course Artistic progress in Anatolia from Paleolithic Age untill Roman Period, social and historical values in artworks of past civilizations, their representing characteristics, criticising artistic relations between different cultures. Art movements and styles (Romanesk, Gothic, Renaissance, Manierism, baroque, Rococo, neoclassic, romanticism, realism) beginning from the byzantian era art, untill 19 th century, painting, sculpture and architecture samples of main artists from each era and art movement. 19. century onwards, from the Impressionism, Expressionism, Modern Style, Fauvism, Cubism, Orfizm, Rayonizm, Section Dor, Vortizm, Süpremativizm, Neoplastizm, Abstract Art, Dadaism, Surrealism, Kavramsalcılık, and so on. currents and the currents of art in the examination of the works of major artists.
