Objectives of the Course Gives knowledge about the approaches that are being used in the process of new product design and gains ability to develop integrated product and process design.
Contents of the Course The process and stages of product and process development; simultaneous cost reduction, increasing customer satisfaction, quality improvement, cycle time reduction approach, enhancing the competitiveness of manufacturing strategies, concurrent engineering, reverse engineering, design for manufacture, quality function deployment (QFD), value engineering, product architecture process engineering, rapid prototyping, computer-aided product and process development.
