Objectives of the Course To teach the basic principles of soil mechanics and engineering properties of soils, their classification and related laboratory tests, to provide capability of developing feasible and logical solutions to soil related problems encountered in civil engineering profession
Contents of the Course Formation of soils, physical properties, mass-volume relationships, consistency limits and soil classification, compressibility of soils, permeability and seepage, stresses in soils, soil settlement and consolidation, shear strength of soils, slope stability, basic laboratory tests
