Objectives of the Course | Basic concepts of soil dynamics and earthquake in terms of civil engineering, investigation of the behavior of the grounds under dynamic effects and consideration of these effects in the design of the ground structures are aimed to give enough knowledge and skills to the students. |
Contents of the Course | Introduction: soil behavior under repetitive loading, measurement of dynamic soil properties, dynamically loaded soil. Determination of vibration effects, measurement of vibration, vibration estimations, vibration reduction. Determination of earthquake-induced deformation, liquefaction problem and precautions, determination of ground period and magnification, reaction of structures and underground structures. Determination of soil stress-strain properties. |
