Objectives of the Course This course examines financial markets and the role of financial institutions in enhancing the efficiency of the national economy and social welfare. A limited financial structure, as well as the financial, legal and economic structure of financial institutions will determine the necessary courses. In particular, it will underline the importance of an independent central bank and a well-functioning commercial customer-focused role. The diversity and similarities of the developed and emerging financial markets will be discussed and the recent financial transactions in the globalization of financial markets and the financial markets will be emphasized on the local markets.
Contents of the Course In this course, commercial banking and financial institutions in general are taught. The historical development of financial institutions and the type of functions of each type of institution begins with the investigation. It then proceeds to a detailed analysis of commercial banking. Issues such as how commercial banks fund themselves and how they use the funds they collect, the risks they face, how these risks are managed, the issues of public supervision in banking and the latest banking trends are the next issues.
