Objectives of the Course This course aims at developing a solid understanding of the strategic importance of operations and how operations can provide a competitive advantage in the marketplace; understanding the relationships between the operations and other business functions; and developing an insight of designing and managing operations, and the related techniques.
Contents of the Course The main emphasis of the course is given on the topics: Production systems, Operations management functions, production planning, inventory management, design of goods and services, process and product strategies, capacity planning, location analysis, and layout strategies.
