Objectives of the Course The aim of this course is to identify the properties of the basic materials which have been used in buildings and the increasing and developing building products according to recent technologies devoted to design and application and to provide these materials to be known and to be selected according to their area of usage in the context of the architectural education program.
Contents of the Course General properties of materials, Binders, Aggregate, Concrete, Timber, Building materials made of clay and clay, Mortars, Coatings, Paints, Insulation materials, Metals, Natural stones, Glasses, Plastics.

Learning Outcomes of Course

# Learning Outcomes
1 To have the basic knowledge of structure, building elements, materials and technology and to acquire the skills to design and produce necessary - sufficient detail solutions in line with following new developments.
2 Gaining the ability to produce ecological, alternative, green and healthy environments with a sustainable approach by using environmental and universal design principles in the field of architecture and to have the ability to produce environmentally sensitive design suggestions and produce them for implementation.
3 Observing the interaction with other disciplines related to the field of architecture and associating it with their own profession, communicating face-to-face or in virtual environments with student / student groups in architecture and other areas of architecture, national / international architects, taking responsibility and acquisition with effective and harmonious working ability.
4 To gain the ability to do interdisciplinary study and research.
