Objectives of the Course The aim of this course is to introduce special education and review relevant professions and administrations
Contents of the Course Definition of special education, basic principles of special education, causes of disability, importance of early diagnosis and treatment, importance of special education in pre-school education, historical approach to disability, mentally disabled, hearing impaired, visually impaired, physically impaired, language and communication disorders , characteristics and education of autistic and gifted children with special learning difficulties, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, reactions observed in families of children in need of special education, the state of special education in our country, institutions and organizations established for this purpose.
