The Erasmus + Program

The Erasmus + program is a European Union program run by the Turkish National Agency between 2014 and 2020 to encourage higher education institutions to cooperate with each other. The Erasmus + Program aims to provide more effective tools to encourage cooperation between different sectors in line with the European 2020 Strategy targets for new needs in education, youth and sports. In the area of higher education in particular, the aim is to strengthen qualifications in higher education and to strengthen the cooperation of higher education institutions with each other and with the business world. The target audience of Erasmus + Erasmus activities, in the broadest sense, includes higher education institutions, as well as the employees and students of these institutions. Applications are made only by the higher education institutions and organizations to the Turkish National Agency. Individual applications are not accepted. The activities under the Erasmus + Program under the Key Action 1 (KA1) of the Individuals Learning Mobility are aimed at developing the qualifications of higher education students and their personnel by providing them with professional development opportunities abroad. In this context, the following activities are aimed to increase the opportunities for foreign students to continue their higher education, to gain the skills they need for transitioning from education to business life; for higher education personnel to gain knowledge of business practice or to increase their pedagogical skills:

• Student Mobility: University students study abroad at a higher education institution or intern at a company or institution / organization abroad.

• Personnel Mobility: Attendance / training / monitoring (except for conferences) of the academic staff of the higher education institutions or staff in institutions teaching in a foreign higher education institution or for all academic and administrative staff of higher education institutions going abroad for professional development in a foreign institution.

Eligible participants

The beneficiaries of this activity are the students and staff of higher education institutions. However, the application must be made by the higher education institution or the national higher education mobility consortium coordinator. Individual applications are not accepted.

Eligible Organizations

In order to apply as a higher education institution; the candidate institution must be a higher education institution that is established in the program country and is required to have Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) certificate.
