HEALTH SERVICES

All citizens living in our country have been a member of General Health Insurance according to the law introduced in 2012. People who are under the age of 25 and in college may benefit from health services with the health insurance of a member of their families.

All the foreign students in Turkey can benefit from General Health Insurance. This means that you can benefit from the state hospitals at no charge and may benefit from the private hospitals with a low fee.

To obtain information on how to benefit from General Health Insurance, you may apply to the Social Security Institution with the necessary documents from the International Students Office. Once you have completed your application, you can pay your General Health Insurance fee as monthly payments after you have registered with the Social Security Institution.

If you do not apply to General Health Insurance within three months following your application, you cannot benefit from the General Health Insurance. If you have an international insurance, you may use it or you can benefit from private health insurances.

It is strongly recommended for exchange students and foreign students to have a health insurance before coming to Turkey.
