This program was founded in 2015-2016 within Vocational School of Higher Education for Health Services of Toros University Vocational School.

Students graduated from this program are qualified as Health Technician.

Admission & Registration Requirements
Students can apply to this Program according to TYT score type and success ranking determined by OSYM. In addition, the graduates of the Emergency Medical Services of Vocational and Technical Secondary Education Institutions can be placed with additional points added to the TYT score.

Recognition of Prior Learning
In Turkish Higher Education Institutions, the process of recognition of former education is still in the initial stage. That’s why, this recognition process has not completely started to be applied in all the programs of Toros University. However, exemption exams are hold in order to be exempt from the English course which is a part of education plan of our program. The students who think they have already got the expected learning outcomes from this course are allowed to take these exams. The students who successfully passed the exam, are exempt from the related courses.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Associate degrees are given to the students who successfully pass all the required courses (corresponding to 120 AKTS), have got grade point averages of at least 2.00 over 4.00 and complete both internships during and after the education program.

Profile of the Programme
Purpose of this program is to train health care personnel who are able to apply required first aid in cases of accidents (accidents at home and at work and traffic accidents) and other emergencies, ensure timely arrival of the patient at a health care organization by a fully equipped ambulance without causing any harm to the patient, provide life saving medical attention, provide sufficient medical attention and as well as have a driving licence. In accordance with this purpose, there are mandatory courses in this education plan. In addition to these mandatory courses, there are also optional courses which students can choose according to their own preferences.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates can work in emergency units of public or private institutions, emergency health services central administrative units, emergency stations, emergencies, patient transport and specially equipped ambulance services, emergency command and control centers.

Assessment and evaluation design of each course is defined in detail in “Instructional Plan”.

Departmental Facilities
Internship and applications of the First and Emergency Assistance Program are carried out in departments attached to Provincial Health Directorate. Teaching and learning of theoretical and applied courses, teaching staff assigned to the Vocational School.
