Foundation
Food Technology department has begun to accept students during the 2019-2020 academic year.

Qualification Awarded
The graduates successfully completing the programme are given the diploma of associate degree in the field of FOOD TECHNICIANSHIP.

Level of Qualification:
Short Cycle

Admission & Registration Requirements
In order to be accepted for this program must be achieve exams and complete the process set by OSYM in academic and legal framework of regulations. Programme accepts students that have type of YGS-4 point.

Recognition of Prior Learning
Which students come to from horizontal and vertical transitions before they are successful in their undergraduate and graduate courses with the decision of the board of directors will be able to exempt to program.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
To be able to secure the bachelor's degree in the field of Health Care Management the students are required to to complete 1200 ECT credits and to have achieved a cumulative gross point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.

Profile of the Programme
The aim of the Food Technology Programme is to graduate food technicians having knowledge and skills in food science and technology so as to meet the requirements of food sector; having ability to work as an intermediary employee in the safe production, protection, packaging, storage and serving of foods, in food quality control laboratories and services.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Students who graduate from the program in line with qualifications gained in the Food Technology sector, manufacturing, processing are employed in the public institutions.

Access to Further Studies
Graduates who have completed the program and have sufficient DGS score can make a vertical transition to the relevant departments.

Examination, Assessment and Grading Regulations
The details of assessment and grading regulations for each lesson is given for each course in the Course Teaching Plan (Syllabus) in accourding to Toros University Pre-Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations.

Graduation Requirements
To be able to secure the short cycle degree in the field of Food Technology the students are required to to complete 120 ECT credits and to have achieved a cumulative gross point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.

Departmental Facilities
Department students can take part in all of the social, cultural, sports facilities and club activities that are provided by Toros University Rectorate. Besides, in our department there are various clubs. Students can take a part in the activities of these clubs in the light of their area of interest. By means of symposiums and congresses in various topics, spekaers that are invited to our faculty, and internships; students have the chance of chasing the developments in practice as well as in theory. Furthermore students have also the chance to be members of faculty teams in sports branches like football, basketball, volleyball etc.
