Foundation
Department of civil engineering was opened in 2010. The department offers education and research in undergraduate and graduate programs. Infrastructure and laboratory facilities are currently being developed.

Qualification Awarded
The Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering ( first cycle in Civil Engineering) is awarded to the graduates who have successfully completed all courses in the curriculum.

Admission & Registration Requirements
Candidates should have a high school or equivalent diploma and get an adequate score from University Entrance Examination conducted by National Student Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM).

Recognition of Prior Learning
Formal recognition of prior learning at Turkish higher education institutions, vertical, lateral and intra-university transfers are accomplished within the scope of “REGULATIONS REGARDING ON THE BASIS OF TRANSITION BETWEEN ASSOCIATE DEGREE AND BACHELOR DEGREE PROGRAMS, DOUBLE MAJOR, MINOR PROGRAMS AND INTERINSTITUTIONAL CREDIT TRANSFERS IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS. ” At the beginning of each academic year in Turkey exemption exams are made for foreign language courses within the scope of recognition of certificate-based or experience-based learning. Students who pass the exam are exempt from the relevant course.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Students must obtain a grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 and successfully pass all courses on the programme (equivalent to a total of 240 ECTS).

Profile of the Programme
Civil Engineering Department is a division dealing with education and research on the design, construction and operation of any type of structure used in the daily life of human directly or indirectly. Civil engineering is a broad engineering discipline with a curriculum providing a strong foundation in mathematics and physics followed by in-depth education in structures, mechanics, construction materials, geotechnical engineering, transportation and construction management. The main objective of the department is to provide the required knowledge for the rapidly developing science and technology, and to graduate engineers well educated parallel to the developing technology with the required knowledge and ability to transmit these knowledge to practice.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Bachelors of the Civil Engineering Department are employed in many different fields of areas, such as planning, building and auditing of buildings, dams, airfields, bridges, roads, harbor and water structures, sewage systems, water transportation systems, tunnels, railways, light-rail and subway systems, etc.. in private and public companies.

Access to Further Studies
Upon successful completion of bachelor's degree candidates having scores from ALES or equivalent examinations and adequate level of foreign language knowledge can continue studies in their own fields or other graduate programs in related fields.

Departmental Facilities
The academic staff is composed of 4 full time professors (4 professors,and 1 research assistant . Materials of construction and soil mechanics laboratories are present.
