Objectives of the Course | The predominating objective of the course is to promote the student´s understanding of, and capability to critically relate to, the possibilities, advantages and disadvantages, of different qualitative research approaches in scientific knowledge production. |
Contents of the Course | The course introduces the theoretical foundations of qualitative research and establishes accordingly the relevance of qualitative research in science and practice. Thus, a survey of different qualitative research designs, as well as different qualitative data collection methods, are displayed and critically scrutinized. Validity, reliability and the general prevalent agenda of credibility is thoroughly addressed as well as ethical issues of different methodological approaches. |
